This is your first pregnancy. You’re about to become something different. You know it. You can feel it. And everyone can see it. But no one can tell you exactly what it will be like because nobody is in your body, feeling what you are feeling and seeing what you are seeing.
This pregnancy may be exactly what you wanted. Or maybe it isn’t. You may have waited a long time for it. Or maybe you didn’t. And either way, it may scare the pants off you to know that you have no idea what is coming.
You may be changing your life—rearranging your house, quitting your job, moving, buying a new car—to accommodate this being who, right now, is little more than a constant kick in your ribs and hope in your heart.
